People suffering from halitosis often try to treat the issue using gum, mints or mouthwash. Unfortunately, these will not usually solve the problem in the long-term. In most cases, halitosis can be treated with a professional teeth cleaning. Patients should seek treatment for gum disease as soon as possible in order to prevent progression of the disease.

The best way to prevent halitosis is to maintain strong oral hygiene practices including regular brushing and flossing and visiting us at least twice a year for a regular dental checkup.
